M.I.L.K. represents a new breed of music artists with a liquid skill set and a distinctive musical style. A combination that has made M.I.L.K. a trusted collaborator to some of the frontrunners on the rising scene of Scandinavian alt. pop and resulted in various collaborations spanding from songwriting to visual projects and music video direction.
M.I.L.K. announced himself in 2016 with a series of unofficial releases that caught the attention of influential music medias across the world and peaked with the internet hit “If We Want To”. He followed up earlier this year with the debut EP “A Memory of a Memory of a Postcard” (Capitol Records) that unfolds through a visual EP project including a video installation, 6 music videos, an analogue photo series and a European exhibition tour.
With this audiovisual installation M.I.L.K. and Jonas Bang insists that the visual side of music can be more than an online promo tool designed to satisfy the narrowing attention span of todays online culture. The collage-styled installation explores the escapistic and autobiographical nature of M.I.L.K.’s songwriting and the summery moods of the EP — a journey that led the two directors around the world in a search to nuance the songs through distinct visual themes and a carefully selected palette of tone-in-tone coloured images. All footage are shot on 8mm film, RED or VHS in studio or on location in Mexico, USA, Morocco, Paris and Copenhagen.
